Tianjin

Today I went with some high-school friends of mine the  to visit our teachers. It was a pretty pleasant flash-back =)
One of them told me that her daughter is attending the same academic career as mine, though she's a year older than me and therefore she's just about to graduate. She's studying the same languages as I do and she's been to China last summer. What a coincidence! :D
She went to Tianjin (which I didn't know where it is until some minutes ago); actually her first choice was Dalian, but willing to go and visit also Beijing she went for Tianjin in the end. She told me almost anybody speaks english in there, and there aren't any english writings anywhere either, man! She used to go to Beijing at weekends. Nice plan! (Think I'll do the same if I ended up choosing to go there). So, when I came back home, after adding two new FB-contacts of my teachers (looks like everybody now has got Facebook! By the way, do you guys have it? Please leave your name if you do!), I searched on the web, to find out where Tianjin is. That's not very far away from Beijing, after all. Anyway, I still have to plan it all down with my classmates. I checked also on Wikipedia and I found out that this city, apart from being very big like almost all in China, has got several interesting districts, such as the Austro-hungarian one, or even the Italian one man! :D
You can meet very different architecture styles just by strolling about! Looks weird!

I should put an alarm on the clock, so I'd be able to write every now and then

Funny how everytime I say I will do my best not to leave this journal bite the dust, then I fail. The last time I wrote here was on the something of Sept. and it was about my last vacation in Rhodes. I haven't published a single photo of that amazing experience, though. Besides that, I'm always wondering what it'd be best for this journal. Being cancelled and restart a new one about something else sometimes seems the right thing to do. Otherwise I could keep on working on this one, but starting back again. Anyway, what's new in my life? I'm looking for some chinese guys to get to know with, just to enlarge my horizons but also to improve my knowledge of chinese language and to prove my oral skills. I do have some MSN contacts of some guys and I've been chatting with them recently. This is kinda cool because, thanks to a video-writing programme I downloaded from the web some months ago, I'm now able to write in chinese! Yesterday I had this stunning experience of being listened by a chinese guy whose italian name is Antonio (don't ask for the chinese one since it doesn't get to my mind right now), and he checked my oral pronunciation and even corrected it. It was kinda weird, even funny because it's always good when you learn every kind of stuff, but it's when you have to practice that your true ability and skills come into play. So, I told him that some classmates and I are discussing about going to China next summer, and spend about 5 or 6 weeks attending a course. He told me it was a great idea. Yes, it is. I'd love to go there and learn more (and take photographs! :P). The main concern is about where to go, cuz our teacher suggested not to go to Beijing because in summertime there are lots of Western people and, what is more, people of Beijing use to speak more dialect then putonghua, that is the common language in China which is usually taught to foreigners (what is known as Mandarin). So, I still don't  know. At present I'm preparing an exam, which I'm taking on Feb.3rd. After that I should meet my classmates and talk about this. What about you guys?

Edited at 19.21: "I haven't published a single photo of that amazing experience, though."
                               I did, instead! :P

At last...

I'm seeing Titanic on Saturday evening, for the first tim in my life!
Ok, don't ma ke fun of me, cuz everybody already did. :P
I've never seen this film, although I know what it's all about, and as this news came out two friends of mine decided I had to plan to see Titanic. And the moment has come, on Saturday afternoon at about 2 o'clock, so I'll be able to go to a pre-dinner on time afterwards, since they told me the movie lasts 3 hours or so..oh my god!

Timetables

I just want to know who the hell plans the timetables. If I had to take the exam I'd like to take, I'd have 7 exams in June and none before @__@ , since I have the chance to choose between two exams..for istance: english culture will turn into a) english culture II OR b)anglo-american culture OR c) english-speaking countries culture. Then I'll have to choose between 1-political economy OR 2-international economic politics and 1-sociology of cultural processes OR 2-sociology of cultural relationships..then I have an exam that I can choose randomly among the ones of my faculty..but I'm still unsure about which one :S
Lessons start on 30th Sep... let's think first of tomorrow's exam and Rhooooodes! :P

Wow, it's been ages

Here I am writing again on my LJ after exactly 5 months. I feel a bit ashamed about this, but what can I tell you? There are times when I completely forget to write any stupid thing that could go by in my mind, but maybe the point is that I don't want to write about stupid things. Anyway I forgot to write, that's all :) I apologize.
Well, my last post was about my trip in Rome. Rome is brlliant and I spent a really nice time, though I had more than a word with a friend of mine. Actually it was not just me, but the three of us that couldn't bear the way she (the fourth) was acting...but in the end we cleared all up. *I hope*
What if I post some photos of Rome, as I promised and then did not ? :P

Memories of Rome

Besides that, the guy I was giving english tutoring to got promoted and I'm really proud of that :)
About uni, on Monday I'll take my last exam, as far as this academic year is concerned. It's Sociology of the communication. Yet this year I'll have to choose between two different curriculums, and I'll go for the eco-socio-juridic one..the other one is more linguistic-based, but in the sense of translation and interpretation, and I think the one I'm going for can help me find more opportunities in the job world in the future. Hopefully this will turn as the best choice :)

See you soon my fellas, I'll post some photos when I come back! =)

Ciao!

Have been asked to give private lessons, at last!

As I stepped forward onto the track (I do athletics, for those who don't know, or .. well .. I used to), Barbara, who's a coach, came to me and asked me if I could give private lessons to her son, who is 15 and needs english tutoring. She told me he doesn't have that solid base, so he would need to revise or better to start over again.
I'm talking about him...who matters, man! that's new incoming! *Muahahah* ... I'm joking, of course!
I started tutoring a 17 y.o. girl last week, so if I'll be able to keep up with both, it would be perfect!
Seems like everything is going the right way this time! :D
If I continue this way, I will not need to find a job anymore!

Joke

Here's a funny joke I found on a magazine

A famous theologian in the United  States has developed a theory that Jesus Christ was in fact Italian. This theory is based on three premises, namely:
1) Only an Italian could still be living at home with his parents at the age of 33.
2) Only an Italian could seriously believe that his mother was a virgin...
3) Only an Italian mother could seriously believe that her son was God.

Comunque potete arrivare all'archivio accedendo dal menù a sinistra a MOSTRE->Archivio appunto =)
Amen! :D

Heading southwards =)

Next summer I'd love to go visit the south of Spain! What do you think? Have you been there?
Where would you like to go next summer?

05:30 :S

We're setting off at 05.30 in the morning! @______________@
From Stazione Centrale in Milan...and we do not live in Milan :D (well, it's just some 30 minutes by car, I guess)
Fortunately someone of their parents will take us there, because mine wouldn't for sure! XD
Anyway, I guess I'll have plenty of time on train to devote to sleeeeeep! Or at least take a nap...
also, because I'm not sure I'll go to bed the night before, if it was just to sleep a few hours. :S

Nach Rom

In a couple of weeks I'll go to Rome. I've already been there, 2 years ago or so with my family, but this time I'll go by train with 3 friends of mine of the high-school and we'll rock it! :D
We booked a b&b which is quite close to the centre...the announcement said it's behind San Peter's square...moreover, it's pretty cheap (25 euro per night)...so convenient + cheap = sounds perfect! :D
The first time I went to Rome I didn't have my own (digital) camera , so this time I'll be able to take more photographs of this marvellous city! :D
I'll see once again the Colosseum, and the Tomb of the Unkown Soldier will blow my mind over and over :P
Awww...here are some pics!

What did you do on Easter day?

What a quiet day! ^^
This morning I went to take my granny from her house. After a stop at the graveyard (shall thee rest in peace), we came back home (mine this time) and we had lunch with my family. Then the afternoon passed by very quietly, relaxing on the sofa, chatting and playing. Suddendly, a strong wind came by and it got very chilly. Luckily, there are no lessons until thursday, so I have the chance to carry on my vacation for at least three days more :D
JOY!
What have you done in these two days?

News

Hey to everybody!
It's been ages (because of me, obviously ;P).
It would be great if I could find a job, part-time of course. I wish I could do both things, you know..university and work..working would let me be a bit more indipendent, on the economic side. I look for a place in a bar for example. I've been answered to a post I sent to a company (don't know of what businness) for a call-center job. I've been given a telephone number that I should call to get more information about it.
I don't know...almost everyone I know advised me against this kind of job, becuase they said it's stressful and you're not paid enough (which is true), and I don't really know if it suits me. I know that's better than nothing, but I'd rather do something else than keep on answering the phone. Anyone of you has tried this job? I also know that it's one of the most common job practised by students, after all.
Hope everything is fine.
If you're on vacation (like me), enjoy! :P

Gimme a reason

I wanna get out of here.
I can't stand it anymore.
Every second that goes by I feel more and more hollow inside. It is sucking out all my optimism, my hilarity, my best.
If I keep on, is for HER. She has already left, and I'm glad for her that she feels much better now..at least relaxed. While SHE keeps on suffering. This is not what everybody would like life to be. This is hell.
I'd have a place to go, actually. But I can't. Too many complications would come out.
This post would look so out of tone to the current graphic...pity...

Glow

I was lost in a reverie
dreaming of shiny lilies
and purple clouds of lullaby

I was telling my deepest secrets to the wind
for I knew they would be hidden forever
swinging quietly in the daylight

I was glowing in the dark
blinded by my own light

I was waiting for the end
for I've never run
into such a beautiful moment

I was day-dreaming and I was dying
I woke up in a heart-beat
and I prayed to turn back time

His Dark Materials

Does anybody know anything about this trilogy?
I've read the first book, ( "Northern Lights" as original title, then changed in "The Golden Compass") and I just loved it. I got really impressed! It's awesome, beautiful and and that is concerned! *____*

His Dark Materials - wikipedia
Northern Lights/The Golden Compass - wikipedia

Well, when a book is very succesful they tend to reply it on a film adaptation..given the fact that most of the time movie adaptations of books pretty suck, this one isn't the exception!
Well, the movie in itself is nice, it has got nice special effects, a good cast (tough some actors is not given a good relevance), but for someone who has read the book previously, it lets you down a bit. The original story-line is torn, there are anticipations, posticipations that are not implied in the novel..many things are bad explained while others aren't at all. The movie is 1h53min long, and I have to confess it's pretty short for reproducing such a great novel!
It'd have needed more time to settle things at the right place.
Anyway, even tough all the bad things I mentioned, go and see this movie, hoping it'll catch your curiosity to see the next two..but in any case, DO read the bok, because it's worth it!

Has anyone read the book or already seen the movie? Please leave a comment! ;)
